An idiot can be defined as someone who is mentally deficient or acts in a self-defeating or significantly counterproductive way.
Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s latest “deficiency” involves using the tragic shootings, in Newtown Connecticut’s Sandy Hook Grade School, to advance a political agenda!
To speak out against guns before parents and family members have even mourned their deaths is one of the most despicable, selfish, callous and absurd acts I have ever witnessed!
Far too often we turn our backs to the root causes of societal problems. It is NOT guns that need control … it is VIOLENT BEHAVIOR and the recognition of those who might be most susceptible to it!
Perhaps it is time to confront Hollywood’s adoration of violence as we are inundated with violent, destructive and murderous films or television shows. Is it possible that violent video games, which encourage blowing your opponent’s head off or ripping out his spine, might just contribute to the issue? More importantly, shouldn’t we discontinue the practice of turning a blind eye to troubled individuals with histories of odd or threatening behavior?
Ahh … let’s just outlaw guns … so only outlaws will have guns!
